This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I love George Orwell's book, but the main place I got my name from is Hindu mythology. There is a diety Soma, who is also a plant, and at the same time the drug of immortality that the other gods drink. He's the god of poets, plants and the moon (although that description kind of simplifies him little; Hindu dieties tend to cover a lot of bases). Pretty good synopsis: [link]
I used to work as an herbalist and was really into ethnobotany and I was pretty fascinated by him. I think that may be where Orwell got the name soma, but soma also means "body" in greek, so I'm not sure...
Thank you God. Thank you for giving us Barack Obama.
Peace.

Once it smiled a silent dell
Where the people did not dwell;
They had gone unto the wars,
Be silent in that solitude,
Which is not loneliness- for then
The spirits of the dead, who stood
In life before thee, are again
In death around
